We were pleased to spend a few days with Dr. Allan Philippe from the Group for Environmental and Soil Chemistry at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau. Most of the time we were in the lab, using the OF2i® and OF2i®-Raman devices to shed light on the intricate composition of soil samples.
The brand new OF2i-Raman system rose to the challenge, delivering Raman spectra for hundreds to thousands of soil particles per sample.
The research group at RPTU investigates the rich mineral diversity at the microscale and is interested in automating the indentification of soil components.
